McGimpsey, David

McGimpsey is the author of Lardcake (ECW Press, 1996), Dogboy (ECW Press, 1998), Hamburger Valley, California (ECW Press, 2001) and Certifiable (Insomniac Press, 2004). He is a member of Puggy Hammer, whose first CD is Rock like idiots. He wrote Imagining Baseball (Indiana UP, 2000), a critical study on the game's place in American popular culture. McGimpsey teaches at Montreal's Concordia University.

He co-edited Breaking the skin (Black Mountain Press 2002) and his work is included in New soundings (Blackstaff Press 2003). He has been shortlisted twice for a Hennessy Award.
