Wainwright, Jeffrey

Wainwright's collections include Selected Poems (1985), The Red-Headed Pupil (1994) and Out of the Air (1999) all published by Carcanet. Wainwright has translated plays by Péguy, Claudel and Corneille. He edited Poetry the Basics (Routledge 2004) and Acceptable Words: Essays on the Poetry of Geoffrey Hill was published by Manchester University Press in 2006. Carcanet will publish his new collection, Clarity or Death!, in 2008. He is Professor in the Department of English at Manchester Metropolitan University.

Waling, Steven

Immanuel is Senior Research Scholar at Yale University, distinguished professor of Sociology (Emeritus), and Director of the Fernand Braudel Center at Binghamton University. He has written numerous books on geopolitics and sociology (The Essential Wallerstein is a good introduction), and is former president of the International Sociology Association.
