Cochrane, Mark

Cochrane is the author of Boy Am I (Wolsak & Wynn 1995) and Change Room (Talonbooks 2000). New poems are forthcoming in New American Writing and PRISM international. Cole, Olivia

Cole, poet and journalist, was born in 1981 and read English at Christ Church, Oxford. In 2003 she won an Eric Gregory award, and was selected to be an Arvon-Jerwood Poetry apprentice. Her poems have appeared widely.

Coleman, Earl

In the 1940s Coleman co-founded what eventually became the Plenum Publishing Corporation. During the 1940s and 1950s, he ran writers'workshops in Greenwich Village, which led to the literary magazine Venture. His poetry was included in 12 Poets of the Fifth Season (1948), and poems and stories appeared subsequently in New Writers 10 (Calder and Boyars 1971). His short story 'Weight and weightlessness' was nominated for the 1999 Pushcart Prize; in 2001, 'Big C, little a' was so honoured. His first solo book of poetry, A Stubborn Pine in a Stiff Wind, was published by the Mellen Poetry Press in 2001.
