Robert Davidson

Davidson is the author of The bird and the monkey (Highland Printmakers 1996), Total immersion (Scottish Cultural Press 1998); and After The Watergaw (as editor, Scottish Cultural Press 1998). 'Columba' was published in its entirety in Poetry Scotland 14). He was managing editor of Northwords Magazine 2001–2004, and is now managing editor of Sandstone Review.

"Standing hands on hips by the A9 he was oblivious of traffic noise. His eyes ranged south and north along the Ross-shire and Sutherland coastline - a rocky escarpment distinct with the quality of edge, it reminded him of Kerry. It had about it a familiar, isolating feel, like a floating island that drifted into his life from time to time bearing different names, Alaska, Libya, Colonsay where he had worked on the new pier."
